What is your specialty?

My specialty is Orthopaedic Spine Surgery.

What attracted you to your specialty?

Out of all the rotations I did during my residency, it was the one that I felt fit my personality. I enjoyed doing the different surgeries and how each case is unique.

Do you have a favorite/most memorable case you’ve worked on? If so, can you describe that experience?

I do not have one case that stands out, but the work that I am most proud of was helping a group of engineers and several other physicians take an idea from start to finish. It began on a dinner napkin and transformed into a full product launch. Being involved in every step of the process, from design of the implant to instrumentation, was fulfilling.

What made you want to work at Beacon Orthopaedics?

When I was deciding on where to work after Fellowship, I wanted to be close to where I grew up in Dayton, Ohio.  At the time, Beacon had a growing reputation in Sports Medicine, and I wanted to use my skills as a spine surgeon to help grow the practice.

Jaideep-Chunduri-M.D.-Spine-SurgeonDo you have any advice for young people who want to be doctors when they grow up?

I would recommend that someone interested in becoming a physician spend as much time studying the pre-medical classes as possible, but also to shadow and work with physicians in order to understand what the lifestyle is. They have to make sure that this is what they want to do.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza!

What’s your favorite comfort food?

Definitely burgers and fries.
