Featured Physician: Dr. Steve Hamilton

Steve Hamilton, M.D. is a Cincinnati native and proud LaSalle High School alumnus. He stayed local and attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  Upon graduation, he completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  He then fulfilled a one-year fellowship at Steadman-Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction. Enjoy getting to know Dr. Hamilton!

What is your specialty?

Sports medicine including arthroscopy of the shoulderhip, knee, and ankle, as well as treatment of athletic foot and ankle injuries. I also specialize in fracture treatment.

What attracted you to your specialty?

Orthopaedic surgery, particularly sports medicine, helps patients from athletes to weekend warriors stay in the game. We improve patients’ lives by allowing them to pursue their passions and remain active.

What made you want to work at Beacon Orthopaedics?

Bob Burger and Rob Rolf served as mentors and advisors during my training. Their advice and guidance were instrumental to my training. When the opportunity was available to join them at Beacon, I jumped at the opportunity.

Do you have any advice for young people who want to be doctors when they grow up?

It’s a long road, but worth the hard work and sacrifice. One of the greatest gifts in life is being passionate about your work and making a difference in your community.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Probably Currito.

What’s your favorite comfort food? Lowcountry specialties: pimento cheese, shrimp, grits, fried green tomatoes.
